Gangster shouts 'Pakistan Zindabad' slogan in court, thrashed

New Delhi, June 13

A jailed gangster, Jayesh Pujari alias Shakeel, was thrashed in a district court in Belagavi of Karnataka after he allegedly raised "Pakistan Zindabad" slogans.

The police stated that the incident took place at a time when Pujari was scheduled for a hearing in connection with a 2018 case. While he was being produced before the district court, he allegedly shouted "Pakistan Zindabad" slogans inside the premises.

Pujari was produced before the district court in connection with a case in which he allegedly threatened one of the former Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Alok Kumar six years ago.

The police personnel quickly secured him and took him to the police station.

The police have registered a case under sections 295 A (Deliberate and malicious acts, intended to outrage religious feelings of any class by insulting its religion or religious beliefs) and section 505 (2) (Statements creating or promoting enmity, hatred or ill-will between classes) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
