Ghaziabad police arrests van driver for sexually abusing a 3-year-old girl

The private van driver stopped the van for five minutes in an isolated area after dropping other children in the cab and sexually abused the girl : Police

New Delhi, April 21

The Ghaziabad police in Uttar Pradesh have arrested a school van driver for allegedly sexually abusing a three-year-old girl  before dropping her home from her playschool.

The girl’s mother gave a written complaint that the 22-year-old cab driver sexually abused her daughter.

The police stated that the driver stopped the van for five minutes in an isolated area after dropping other children in the cab. The child returned from her school and started crying while urinating. When the mother enquired, the child told the mother about the pain in her private area. The mother then took her to the doctor and the doctor confirmed the sexual abuse.

The police said they filed an FIR against the accused under sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (Pocso) Act and Section 65(2) [rape] of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

The police stated that he was immediately arrested and child was sent for medical examination and the report confirms sexual assault. 

The accused works as a private cab driver and used to pick and drop the girl. The girl started to attend school at the beginning of April. We  The girl’s father works in another state, so the family hired a private cab for her after she started to attend school earlier this month..

The police also found that the playschool neither conducted any police verification before appointing the driver nor followed proper protocols.
