A model from Haryana was found dead and her body was recovered from a canal with slit marks around her neck. The police have arrested her boyfriend who attempted to show the incident as an “accident”.
The police stated that Sheetal a model was killed by her boyfriend Sunil, a resident of Israna. Sunil staged a fake accident by pushing Sheetal's car into a canal near Sonipat's Kharkhoda to mislead the investigation.
The accused stabbed the victim to death and then pushed the car into the canal to make it look like an accident. Sheetal had recently found that Sunil was already married, leading to a conflict between the duo, police added further.
Sheetal, a resident fo Panipat, worked in the Haryana music industry. On June 14, Sheetal went to Ahar village for a shoot and never returned. She went missing on June 14, following which her family filed a missing person's report.
Following the complaint, police registered a case under Section 127(6) of the BNS and launched a search operation.
Sheetal's body was found on June 16. The body was sent for post-mortem at PGI Khanpur and then handed over to her family.
