Haryana police beefs up security for religious procession during sawan month in Nuh

Mobile internet and bulk SMS services were temporarily suspended in Nuh district till 6 pm on July 22

New Delhi, July 22

The Haryana Police have beefed up security in Nuh district ahead of the Brajmandal Jalabhishek Yatra that is to be commenced on the first Monday of the 'Sawan' month today.

A Haryana government statement said that mobile internet and bulk SMS services were temporarily suspended in Nuh district till 6 pm on July 22. 

The statement added that there was an apprehension of causing tension, annoyance, agitation, damage to public and private property and disturbance of public peace and tranquillity in the district.

It is to be noted that Nuh district had witnessed riots last year that killed two home guards and 15 citizens besides injuring several policemen during a Vishwa Hindu Parishad procession. The riots broke out when police had tried to stop the procession. 

Nuh SP Vijay Pratap said that police teams were ready and proper security arrangements had been made. The video surveillance had also been increased through drones. 

The police have also deployed dog squad and Mounted Armed Police to keep a check on any suspicious movement or activities
