New Delhi, August 21
A young man died in Delhi's Ashram area after a speeding Mercedes rammed into him in a hit-and-run incident.
The police stated that the incident took place near Bhogal Flyover when the victim, Rajesh, was on his way to work.
Rajesh, originally from Rae Bareli in Uttar Pradesh, had two children and worked as a gardener in Jor Bagh in the South East Delhi area.
The accused was identified as Pradeep Gautam (45), a resident of Noida. The car rammed him from behind and fled from the spot.
The police stated that they rushed to the scene after getting a call regarding the fatal accident.
The police scanned the CCTV footage and traced the driver who was eventually arrested.
The car in which the accident took place has also been seized by the authorities.
