HM Amit Shah holds special meeting with Delhi Police to review law and order situation in the national capital

HM Amit Shah stressed on making every citizen feel safe in Delhi and prioritize safety of women, children and senior citizens

New Delhi, November 23

Union Home Minister Amit Shah heled a special law and order review meeting with Delhi Police in the wake of increasing incidents of firing, gangism, extortion, street crimes. 

The meeting was attended by the Union Home Secretary, Director of Intelligence Bureau, Delhi Police Commissioner and other senior officials.

The Delhi Police also presented their plan and work on countering gangs and related incidents in the city. The seven gangs – Lawrence Bishnoi gang, Himanshu Bhau gang, Kapil Sangwan gang, Neeraj Bawana gang, Hashim Baba gang, Deepak Titar gang, and Kala Jathedi-Naresh Sethi gang are involved making in extortion calls and threats in the city.

Speaking to the Delhi Police officers HM Shah has emphasized that every Delhi resident should feel safe, stressing that it is the personal responsibility of every police officer to ensure public confidence in the city’s security. 

He also instructed the police to ensure protecting children, women and senior citizens must remain a top priority for the Delhi Police. 

Shah emphasised the government’s zero tolerance policy towards crime, stating that no lapses in maintaining law and order would be tolerated, an official said. He also directed the police to develop special action plans targeting key areas related to public safety and to launch focused campaigns.
