New Delhi, June 19

The human finger found in Yummo Ice Creams is likely to be from a worker working at the ice cream factory.

Dr. Brendan Ferrao, a resident of Orlem in Malad, had ordered three ice cream cones through an online app. While having the ice cream, Ferrao felt something in his mouth that he thought might be a "big nut". However, it turned out to be a finger with a nail on it.

The police stated that an employee at the Pune factory of the manufacturer suffered a finger injury in an accident recently. The police suspect that the finger found in the ice cream that was ordered online by a Mumbai doctor belongs to this person.

The police have sent the DNA sample of the staffer to the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) for investigation.

The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has already suspended the licence of the Pune-based ice cream manufacturer pending investigation.
