Indians in Ukraine War- CBI registers FIR, conducts searches across country

New Delhi, March 8

The Central Buteau of Investigation (CBI) conducted at 15 locations across the country in connection with the Indians sent to Russia and forced for Russia-Ukrain war. 

The raids were carried out in Delhi, Mumbai, Ambala, Chandigarh, Madurai, Thiruvananthapuram and Chennai.

The CBI has found that various agents, including three based in Russia, allegedly duped Indian students on the pretext of getting admission to dubious private universities in Russia by making lucrative offers like free or discounted visa extensions and a discount on fees. However, after reaching Russia, the passports of these Indians were taken by the agents in Russia and they were forced by Russia to fight the Ukraine war against their will, the CBI has learnt.

The CBI has also found that one of the agencies based in Delhi allegedly sent around 180 people to Russia, mostly on student visas. 

The CBI FIR stated M/s24x7 RAS Overseas Foundation, registered in Kasturba Gandhi Marg, and its director Suyash Mukut in conspiracy with Tanu Kant Sharma; Srividhya, a resident of Chennai; Rakesh Pandey, a resident of Mumbai, director of M/s O.S.D Bros Travels & Visa Services Pvt Ltd; Mohd. Sufiyan Dawood Ahmad Darugar and his wife Pooka, a resident of Mumbai’s Palghar; Baba Vlogs Overseas Recruitment Solutions Pvt Ltd; Manjeet Singh, a resident of Punjab’s Barnala; M/s Adventure Visa Services Pvt Ltd; Christina, a resident of Russia; Md Moinuddin Chhipa, a resident of Rajasthan but presently based in Russia; and one Santhosh, who is also based in Russia; Faisal Abdul Mutalib Khan, who is based in Dubai; Ramesh Kumar, a resident of Tamil Nadu; Tommy, Robo, and Job – all from Kerala; and unknown others are engaged in trafficking of innocent Indian nationals to Russia.

It further stated that the accused persons mentioned in FIR themselves and through their agents trafficked Indian nationals to Russia on the pretext of getting jobs related to Russian Army, security guards, helper, better life, job, education and huge amounts were charged from these persons illegally. They are duping them for better employment and high paying jobs. The human trafficking network of these agents is spread over several states across India,
