Jharkhand’s ATS arrested a fifth suspect from Dhanbad for alleged links to the banned Hizb ut-Tahrir

The accused was identified as Ammar Yashar, 33, who had been arrested in 2014 too over alleged ties with Indian Mujahideen

New Delhi, May 2

Jharkhand’s ATS arrested a fifth suspect from Dhanbad for alleged links to the banned Hizb ut-Tahrir (HuT).

The accused was identified as Ammar Yashar, 33, was detained from Shamsher Nagar under provisions of UAPA, IPC and the Explosives Act.

Yashar’s name came up during questioning of four persons arrested in Dhanbad on April 26. 

Yashar, who had been arrested in 2014 over alleged ties with Indian Mujahideen, was granted bail in May last year after spending nearly a decade in prison, officials added.
