J&K Police, Army seize 5kg of heroin from LoC

The seized narcotic was reported to have been smuggled from across the LoC and meant to fund terror activities out of its sale proceeds

New Delhi, December 16

The Jammu and Kashmir Police, in a joint operation with the Indian Army, arrested two local residents along with a huge quantity of narcotics from near the Line of Control (LoC) in the border Rajouri district. 

The police stated that acting on an intel an operation was initiated based on specific intelligence in the border village of Sair-Makri  

The securty forces seized approximately 5 kg of heroin from the houses of the two arrested. The seized narcotic was reported to have been smuggled from across the LoC and meant to fund terror activities out of its sale proceeds. 

During preliminary investigations, the police discovered that a dumper, a motorcycle, and a load carrier were involved in narcotics smuggling. 

The police seized al the vehicles and are questioning the arrested persons.
