J&K Police detain three associated wit LeT in Nov 3 grenade blast

The grenade blast occurred last Sunday at the busy Sunday market in central Srinagar

New Delhi, November 9

The Kashmir Zone Police detained three people allegedly associated with the Lashkar-e-Taiba in connection with the November 3 grenade blast that injured 12 persons. 

The grenade blast occurred last Sunday at the busy Sunday market in central Srinagar.

The three were identified as Usama Yaseen Sheikh (28), Umar Fayaz Sheikh (25), and Afnan Mansoor Naik (27) – all from Srinagar.

Inspector General (Kashmir Zone) V K Birdi said the grenade attack was “done with the intent of disrupting normal life on the directions of their handlers in Pakistan”.

The police have filed a case under the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA).
