KINGPIN OF DABOO BITTU GANG, WANTED IN MCOCA NABBED WITH ILLEGAL FIREARM

New Delhi, February 28

The Delhi Police arrested a dreaded criminal who was wanted in MCOCA (Maharashtra Control of Organized Crime Act) and 46 cases of crime in the national capital. 

The accused identified as Charanjeet alias Dabbu of  Maujpur (49) in Delhi. Charanjeet is allegedly the kingpin of Dabbu Bitty gang that was involved in various crimes. The gang reportedly operated in north east Delhi.

DCP North East, Sanjay Kumar Saini stated that a case under MCOCA Act was registered on the proposal by the district against the crime syndicate being run by Dabbu Bittu Gang in North East District. 

The North East district police had received information that on February 25,  Charanjeet was going to visist his house in Maujour alongwith some of his alleged gang members.  

The information was developed through technical surveillance and information system as well, police officials stated. 

Accordingly, the police laid a trap near his residence and a suspected person was noticed arriving in the place of information. When the police grabbed him, he revealed his identity that he was only Charanjeet alias Dabbu. 

The police found a pistol with seven live cartridges from him. He was booked under the Arms Act at Jafrabad police station.   

During the investigation, Charanjeet stated that he was undergoing judicial custody in case for a murder case registered with  IPC Dayalpur police station and was on parole due to Corona pandemic protocol of jail authorities. Further, he was allegedly found utilizing the parole period in reorganizing his crime syndicate in this area and to neutralize other rival gangs operating in the area, so that his gang gains supremacy. 

The police said, Charanjeet is a Class 10 drop out. During childhood, he came into the company of criminal elements and started committing crimes. He allegedly set up his own gang and earned huge wealth from criminal activities. He was found to be living a lavish lifestyle and has diverted the monitory gains from his criminal activities towards property dealing. He is married and has two children. He also runs business of cable operator in Maujpur area.

The arrest of Charanjeet has aided police in solving several cases of attempt to murder, theft, trespassing, criminal intimidation, assualt under various sections of the Indian Penal Code registered at North District Kotwali, Bhajanpura, Seelampur, Daryaganj, Nabi Karim, Shahdara, Seemapuri, Welcome, Jaffrabad, Rani Bagh and Dayalpur police stations.
