New Delhi, June 13
Following the order of Delhi L-G VK Saxena on the water theft cases increasing the in national capital amidst the water crisis, the Delhi Police have increased surveillance around water canals.
The police have deployed personnel at the Munak canal in Bawana after several complaints of water theft by water mafia active in the area were received by the local administration.
The Lieutenant Governor's office said that the Haryana government maintained the Munak canal at demand and expense of the Delhi government, but in the last 10 years, the Delhi government did not contact them even once about the maintenance of the canal. And neither did the Jal Board under the Delhi government file a complaint or FIR against the tanker mafia.
