Masked men held a man at gunpoint, robbed cash of Rs. 40 lakhs in Shahdara area of Delhi

New Delhi, September 18
A man from Shahdara in Delhi was robbed at gunpoint in morning hours by two masked men who were waiting for him at the ground floor of his building. The assailants took him to his home, tied up him and his wife and decamped with Rs 40 lakh and gold jewellery.
The police said they arrested four persons including the mastermind, who turned out to be the cousin of the victim’s wife.
The accused have been identified as Deepak Balyan, Ashu Balyan, Rachna (the cousin) and Rajendra Kumar.
The police scanned CCTVs around the area to map the route taken by the accused and identified their vehicles. They saw that the accused had arrived at the spot on three scooters. The police then traced their mobile numbers and started tracing their call details records.
The accused reached at the victim's residence; while Rachna waited outside, the men wore masks and took the victim to his house and robbed their cash and jewellery.
DCP (Shahdara), Rohit Meena stated that Rachna was receiving messages from a finance company about gold loans. She wanted to rob the moneyfrom her cousin sister. Rachna revealed she had known her cousin had some cash and jewellery at her home and conspired with the others to rob the family.
The police recovered Rs. 5 lakhs from Deepak's house in a raid and jewellry from Rachna's house in Ghaziabad.
