Migrant worker lynched in Haryana on suspicion of consuming beef, WB Govt offers govt job to his widow

New Delhi, September 5

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee extended her support to the widow and four-year-old daughter of Sabir Malik, a migrant labourer from the state, who was killed in Haryana.

His widow has been provided a government job as part of a compensation package, he said.

The appointment letter was handed over to the widow and she has been posted as an attendant in the Basanti BLRO office. The government has also taken up responsibilities of the child's education.

The lynching of Malik has sparked widespread outrage and drawn attention to issues of communal violence and discrimination. Few days ago, a Class 12th student Was shot at in a moving car by a group of ‘Gau Rakshaks’ who suspected him and his friends to be cow smugglers. The boy was chased for 25 kilometers and shot at.
