Missing journalist found dead and decomposed at Malviyanagar home

The deceased was identified as Subhabrata Ghosh Chowdhury who had worked at ANI - news wire agency between the years 2017 to 2019

New Delhi, May 6

A young journalist who was missing since five days was found dead and in decomposed state his body was found at his apartment in Malviyanagar. 

The deceased was identified as Subhabrata Ghosh Chowdhury who had worked at ANI - news wire agency between the years 2017 to 2019. He was currently employed in a Public Relations firm. 

Chowdhury’s relatives alerted the police when they could not contact him over phone. 

He had a postgraduate diploma degree from the Times School of Journalism and a Master’s degree in English literature from University of Delhi. Ever since Chowdhury’s father died in 2021, he has been living alone in the apartment.

Chowdhary’s relative told media that since April 25, he had severed all connections to the outside world and locked himself into his one-room apartment. The last he spoke to him was on April 15, the day of Bengali New Year. 

One of his last posts on LinkedIn profile reads, “Self-motivation works when external forces don’t play spoilsport!”, 

The police stated that they have found no suicide note at the spot. The forensics have collected viscera samples to ascertain cause of death. His body was sent for post mortem on Saturday at All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Delhi.
