Mumbai cybercrime held a con director of a company for fake job scam

New Delhi, December 1

The cyber cell department of Mumbai Police Crime Branch has arrested a director of a company for for allegedly duping many people on the pretext of helping them get jobs.

The police identified the accused as Shailendra Bharti (29). Soon after cases of fraud were filed against him, Bharti was absconding from Mumbai and traced to Lucknow before his arrest. 

The incident came to light when a woman, S Vidya Raju, approached the police with a complaint alleging that she was duped of Rs 26.09 lakh.

According to the cyber police, Bharti fraudulently procured data of job seekers from various job portals, following which he would defraud them of cash by promising well-paid jobs.

The cybercrime officials are scrutinizing six bank accounts where he used to deposit money. The police stated that in an estimation he has collected around Rs. one crore through this fraud.
