Mumbai police arrests six including their own personnel in Mysure Cafe robbery

Naresh Nayak, the owner of Mysure Cafe in Sion was first threatened with a false case of illicit funds; coerced to pay Rs. 25 lakhs of "settlement money"

New Delhi, May 16

The Mumbai Police arrested six persons including a Mumbai police personnel in robbery of Rs 25 lakhs from the owner of Mysore Cafe. 

Mysore Cafe is a well known restaurant in Sion area of Mumbai. 

As per the case details, six persons had presented fake identity cards, forcibly entered Naresh Nayak’s home, and falsely alleged that he harbored 17 crores in illicit funds, purportedly intended for the upcoming Lok Sabha election. He was coerced into a settlement offer of Rs. 2 crores. However, upon realizing he lacked the funds, the perpetrators absconded after looting 25 lakhs from his premises. 

The hotelier later found out that the six persons robbed him off his money and informed police.
