Mumbai police receives bomb hoax call at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus station

A call was received at the GRP control room regarding RDX being placed at Mumbai's CSMT

New Delhi, August 12

The Mumbai Police received a threat call claiming that explosives had been placed inside the city’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) railway station. 

The police conducted a search operation, but no explosives were found and declared the call ad hoax. The police are now hunting for the caller. 

The police stated that a call was received at the GRP control room regarding RDX being placed at Mumbai's CSMT. An unidentified individual made the call, claiming that RDX had been placed at CSMT. 

As soon as the call was received, the Railway Police informed local police and the bomb squad. A thorough search was conducted across all CSMT stations, officials added. 

The primary probe showed that the caller was in the same vicinity but the individual switched off their mobile phone. The number used to make the call was traced to locations in both Mumbai and Bihar, officials added.
