NCB seizes 7kgs of crystal meth enroute to Sti Lanka from Chennai

NCB intercepted a passenger from Ramanathapuram district at a bus stand and recovered 6 kg of methamphetamine from his possession

New Delhi, July 30

The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) in Chennai seized 7 kg of methamphetamine (crystal meth) enroute to Sri Lanka. 

Acting on an intel, NCB officials increased their surveillance at several locations, including bus stands, railway stations, and airports in Chennai. 

On July 24, they intercepted a passenger from Ramanathapuram district at the Kilambakkam bus stand and recovered 6 kg of methamphetamine from his possession.

Following his confession, the officers nabbed two more individuals, leading to the discovery of a storage facility near the Redhills area. 

The officials added that a raid on the facility resulted in the recovery of an additional 954 grams of methamphetamine and arrest of three men, identified as Bysul Rahman and Ibrahim from Ramanathapuram, and Mansoor from Chennai.

The accused were planning to smuggle the drugs to Sri Lanka via Ramanathapuram
