Nursing student sexually assaulted, found injured condition in Ratnagiri of Maharashtra

This incident has sparked an outcry among the nursing community in Ratnagiri with massive protests in the city

New Delhi, August 27

A nursing student was allegedly sexually assaulted and found unconscious in an condition in Ratnaggir of Maharashtra. 

The police stated that the girl was found injured near Champak Ground and later shifted to the district hospital for treatment.

This incident has sparked an outcry among the nursing community in Ratnagiri. The demonstrators held banners and chanted slogans, calling for immediate action against the culprits. 

Nurses and hospital staff staged protests outside the hospital, demanding the death penalty for those responsible for the crime. The protests escalated as the hospital staff, along with other supporters, took to the streets, blocking traffic in several parts of the city. 

The incident comes to light amid nationwide protests demanding justice for a 31-year-old trainee doctor, who was raped and murdered on August 9 at Kolkata’s RG Kar Medical College and Hospital.
