ONE AFRICAN NATIVE ARRESTED WITH ALLEGED POSSESION OF HEROIN

New Delhi, February 25

The Narcotics Squad of Delhi Police West District arrested an African national for allegedly possessing over 1000 grams of heroin worth over Rs. five crores. The police beleive that he is a part of an international narcotics trafficking cartel. 

The accused was identified as Obi Ogochukwu Stephen from Lagos in Onitsha of Nigeria (45). 

The narcotics cell had received intel that an African national, who is involved in the drug peddling, will come near MCD Primary School Tilak Vihar in Tilak Nagar of Delhi for allegedly selling drugs. 

When the police laid a trap, they found that the accused had arrived at the spot with the contraband. He was reportedly seen waiting for his receiver however after few minutes, when no one turned up, he started to leave the spot. The police team overpowered him leading to his arrest. 

The police 1150 grams of fine quality heroin from him that has a market value of Rs. five crores. 

The narcotics cell officials said that the  accused disclosed that he is narcotic Drug peddler and operating in Delhi since last few years. In the year 2011, he came to India and lived in various areas of Delhi. He has been dealing in narcotic drugs since then. 

The police are now tracing the other persons who allegedly worked with him in the alleged cartel. The accused has been booked under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act.
