New Delhi, June 17
Four Naxalites were killed after an encounter broke out between the security forces and Naxals in Singhbhum district of Jharkhand.
The forces are carrying out a search and coming operation. After the encounter, the police said that six of the eight Naxals killed in the encounter were senior-ranking cadres and carried collective cash rewards worth Rs 48 lakh.
These cadres belonged to the People's Liberation Guerrilla Army's (PLGA) military company no. 1 of Naxalites and Maad division supply team formations.
A huge haul of arms and ammunition have been seized from the spot, police added.
On June 5, six Naxalites were killed in an encounter in Narayanpur, while seven were gunned down on the Narayanpur-Bijapur border on May 23.
