Security forces gun down two Maoists in Chhattisgarh

The security forces gunned down two alleged Maoists including a woman in Sukma district of Chhattisgarh. The police allegedly found country-made weapons and Maoist literature from the hideout.
The officials said that an encounter broke out in the jungles of Tetemadgu and Rasapalli near the Telangana border. Acting on information about the presence of Maoists in the area, security forces conducted an anti-insurgency operation.
12 teams of District Reserve Guard (DRG) from Sukma and two teams of Commando Battalion for Resolute Action (CoBRA), an elite unit of CRPF were involved in the operation.
83 Maoists have been killed in various encounters with security forces in Chhattisgarh so far this yearincluding 67 in the Bastar region, which includes Sukma. A total of 11 jawans and a civilian driver have lost their lives fighting Maoists.
