Seven people killed, 25 injured in an accident between car and bus on Lucknow-Agra Expressway

The bus was on its way to Delhi from Rae Bareli while the car occupants from going to Kannauj after paying a visit to Mehndipur Balaji

New Delhi, August 5

Seven people were killed and 25 injured when the bus they were on fell into a ditch after a collision on the Lucknow-Agra Expressway.

The police informed that a bus was on its way to Delhi from Rae Bareli, when at around 12.45 am it collided with a car coming from the wrong lane.

Monu, 25, his mother Chanda Devi, and Pradyumn, 24, who all were in the car, died on the spot. The family in the car was returning to Kannauj after paying a visit to Mehndipur Balaji in Rajasthan.

Three passengers from the bus were pronounced dead. 60 people were on the bus.

The police stated that the driver of the car, who had been coming from Lucknow and going to Agra, must have fallen asleep and entered the wrong lane.

The police have registered a case and speaking to the victims to ascertain the cause of the accident.
