SIT probing Mahadev betting app questions model-actor Sahil Khan for three hours

New Delhi, April 15

The Mumbai Police Special Investigation Tam (SIT) probing the Mahadev betting app case questoned actor Sahil Khan for over three hours. 

Khan appeared before the SIT around 2.20pm, and was allowed to go by 5.30pm on April 14. 

The police issued a summon to Khan in December 2023. However, he did not appear before the police. Khan had even applied for anticipatory bail at a sessions court, which was rejected following which he approached the Bombay High Court seeking quashing of the FIR.Khan, in his writ plea before the high court, claimed that the charges levelled in the FIR under the gambling law and Information Technology Act are not connected with him.

The case was first registred in Matunga police station in November last year registered a case against 32 people in the Mahadev betting app case, including promoters Saurabh Chandrakar, Ravi Uppal and Shubham Soni. The Enforcement Directorate is also probing the case and arrested a few. 

The Mahadev Gaming app is an online betting platform where users can engage in live gambling across various games, including poker, card games, badminton, tennis, football, and cricket.

The accused allegedly involved in cricket match-fixing, hawala transactions and alleged money laundering through crypto currency networks.
