Six-year-old boy dies after terrace of his house collpases in Harsh Vihar of Delhi

The owner of the house, identified as Ramji Lal, has been absconding since the incident

New Delhi, July 1

A six-year-old boy died after a portion of the terrace of a two storied house collapsed in Delhi's Harsh Vihar area. 

The police said that the incident happened when the child was playing on the terrace of an old house, a portion of which suddenly collapsed, and the boy also fell on the ground..

DCP (northeast) Joy Tirkey said, “The boy was playing on the terrace of the old building when a portion of it collapsed. His father Santosh Kumar called police. He was taken to GTB Hospital, where he was declared dead”. 

Santosh has been living with his family on the premises as tenants for the last six months. He also has a nine-year-old daughter.

The owner of the house, identified as Ramji Lal, has been absconding since the incident. He lives on the ground floor of the same premises.

The police have registered an FIR against the owner of the house.
