Special CP Delhi Police inaugurated cyber police station in South West district

New Delhi, February 23
Special CP Dr. Sagar Preet Hooda inaugurated new cyber police station in South West District in Safdarjang Enclave.
The cyber police station was inaugurated in the presence of JCP (North) AK Singh and DCP (Southwest) Gaurav Sharma.
Eminent persons and members of RWA/MWAs of South West District from all Police Station of South West District also joined in and presented memento’s to chief guest and other officers present.
The officials stated that in compliance of Standing Order No. 442/21 a fully functional Cyber Police Station has started in South-West District since December 3 in makeshift arrangement at Delhi Cantt police station complex in two rooms due to paucity of space in Vasant Vihar.
The officials have no started a dedicated office space of Cyber Police Station has been inaugurated in South West District.
The cyber police station premises have full functional space with 14 rooms to be used for office by ACP, SHO, Social media Cell, IOs++, Forensic lab, reader, record, malkhana, reception and ladies room with basic amenities.
The Cyber Police Station will now handle the cyber complaints of South West District in a time bound manner to combat the increasing trend of online cyber crimes such as phishing, cheating, child pornography, and online harassment.
The cyber police station is headed by Inspector Sanjay Gade under supervision of Abhinendra Jain, ACP/Operations with staff having good knowledge of cybercrime investigation, have been transferred to this Police Station.
To ensure speedy investigation of cyber crime and for prompt response, personnel from the cyber crime Police Station will solely work for efficient handling of Cyber related offences and ensure timely disposal.
The members present were also briefed about the safety measures against rising cyber crime and bank fraud through phishing in which hard earned money of innocent citizens is stolen by cheaters. They were also suggested neither to share their vital information over telephone nor to click on unverified links received through messages or mails.
