Atul Subhash a native of Jaunpur in UP was working in Bengaluru. Allegedly harassed by his wife and her family in a long legal dispute, Subhash ended his life.

The Bengaluru Police said the victim, Atul Subhash, shared his death note on the WhatsApp group of the Save Indian Family Foundation, mentioning a marital dispute as he sought the NGO’s help.

When the police reached his home  he was found hanging with a board around his neck with ‘Justice is Due’ written on it.

Subhash wrote about where his room key has to be kept, and a list of people he has to send to an email, including the Supreme Court and the high court. He also mentioned clearing financial commitments, returning his office laptop and ID, and deleting his fingerprint and face recognition from his mobile phone among other tasks.

He also implicated Reeta Kaushik, a family court judge in Jaunpur, for exacerbating his distress.

The note also described how Nikita, on behalf of their minor son, demanded Rs 2 lakh in monthly maintenance. Subhash alleged his wife initially sought Rs 1 crore in maintenance, later increasing it to Rs 3 crores.

Subhash further accused his wife, mother-in-law, and brother-in-law of pressuring him for money since 2020, citing demands for lavish gifts and funds for a cloud kitchen.

Within hours, the Internet was filled with angry posts on various social media platforms demanding justice for Subhash and. Thousands of users wrote to Accenture demanding the company to terminate Nikita from job. The IT company reportedly had to block their X profile.
