Teen driver kills biker in Mumbai with speeding SUV

The 17-year-old boy hit a milk distributor while coming from the wrong side in Goregaon

New Delhi, August 30

 

A young man died after a speeding SUV driven by a 17-year-old boy hit his bike in Goregaon area of Mumbai 

 

The teen driver was arrested by the police and a case was registered against him and two others, including the SUV owner.

 

The police identified the victim as Navin Vaishnaw, who distributes milk.

 

The police have booked the 17-year-old driver, thhe SUV owner Iqbal Jivani (48) and his son Mohammed Faz Iqbal Jivani (21).

 

The minor accused was driving a Mahindra Scorpio and came driving from the wrong side and collided with his two-wheeler around 4 am and fled the spot.

 

After ramming the two-wheeler, the SUV then hit an electric pole. The teenage driver tried to escape, but he sustained injuries and was caught by the police, police added. 

 

The police rushed to the spot and rushed Vaishnaw to a hospital, where the doctors declared him dead.

 

The police have seized the car and arrested the accused, including the minor, after getting the help of the CCTV footage.

 

The teenage boy's blood samples were sent to a laboratory to determine whether he was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the incident, police added.
