New Delhi, November 8

A two-year-old boy and a man lost their lives in two separate electrocution incidents in Alipur and Shahbad Dairy respectively.

In the first case, a two-year-old boy in Alipur came in contact with a high-tension wire near his home. The child incurred severe burns covering 80% of his body. He was rushed to Safdarjung Hospital, where medical staff tried to save him, but the child ultimately succumbed to his injuries Thursday, police said.

The police stated that the boy had accidentally touched a high-tension wire passing dangerously close to his house. They have registered a case under BNS section 106 (death by negligence).

In the second case, a victim was identified as Chander Shekhar who got electrocuted while carrying an iron grill intended for a rooftop installation at his home. High-tension wires were near his house’s roof at a distance of about three feet from the edge.

The police have registered a case under BNS sections 289 (negligent conduct with machinery) and 106 (death by negligence), citing possible negligence given the proximity of the high-tension wires to his residence.
