New Delhi, January 21
The Uttar Pradesh Police Special Task Force (STF) neutralized four criminals allegedly belonging to the Mustafa Kagga gang in an encounter in Shamli’s Jhinjhana area.
The STF informed that STF inspector Sunil Kumar was injured in the firing by the criminals who were travelling in a car. Kumar, who received two bullet wounds, was first taken to Amrit Dhara Hospital and then to Gurugram’s Medanta Hospital. His condition is stated to be critical.
The STF informed that on intervening night January 20-21, Mustafa Kagga gang member Arshad of Saharanpur along with three others Manjeet, Satish and one unknown accomplice were injured in a police engagement with STF Meerut team.
The accused were travelling in a car when they were accosted by the STF team of 11 policemen, which was led by Inspector Kumar. On seeing the police party, the accused opened fire at them. The police also opened fire in retaliation, in which all four were injured in the firing, STF added.
All four were taken to Amrit Dhara Hospital where they were declared dead,
The officials further stated that Arshad was wanted in a robbery case in Behat in Saharanpur. A reward of Rs 1 lakh was declared for his arrest by the Additional Director General of Police Meerut Zone. He was previously involved in over a dozen cases of dacoity and murder in parts of Western UP.
