Week-long lockdown Day 4: Delhi Police continue aiding distressed citizens

The Delhi Police are arranging oxygen supplies to providing food and ration to needy, there are several distress calls policemen and women are attending to. Some of the out of the way works done by police are below.

OUTER DISTRICT


OXYGEN PLANT LYING IDLE MADE OPERATIONAL IN MUNDKA, OUTER DISTRICT
Oxygen plant Sree Shyam Gas, Mundka was found lying idle for want of liquified oxygen.
This had created too much pressure on the adjoining Paramount Oxygen plant leading to waiting time of 6-8 hours and apprehensions of law and order situation in the area. Also , with such pressure and long queues it was difficult to maintain COVID protocols.

With the combined effort of Outer District Police (SHO Mundka played a crucial role in it ) and Revenue West District Nodal Coordinator for Oxygen supply it was decided to revive the idle plant . Police team proactively traced the Owner of Shyam Gases(Praveen Mittal) late night, and he was directed to start the plant with mobilisation of sufficient manpower to cater oxygen supply to the hospitals.
With immense persuasion and liasioning efforts of the entire Police and Revenue  teams, 10 MT oxygen tanker was brought from Panipat. Three police personnel were already deployed by SHO Mundka in Panipat since yesterday morning. The plant was operationalised at around 3AM on and over 95 cylinders were refilled and sent to many hospitals like Neo Sehgal, Mansa Ram, Maharaja Agrassen , DDU, Park , Rathi Hospital. The plant is still operational and more than 50 hospitals and nursing homes are utilising it's services. It has decreased the load on Paramount plant along with the management of COVID related protocols.

NORTH DISTRICT


North District Police helped Tirath Ram Hospital by providing 33 oxygen cylinders in the quickest time
At around 7:15 AM, Inspector Ajay Kumar, SHO Civil Lines received a distress call from Tirath Ram Shah Hospital, Isher Das Sawhney Marg near Tis Hazari Metro Station that the hospital has run out of oxygen supply and need immediate help.  It was further informed that their vehicle has been sent for the refilling of oxygen cylinders to Bawana Refilling Centre. 

Immediately, the information was shared with senior officers and the oxygen supplier of Bawana was liaised to provide refilled oxygen cylinders. As well as, a team of PS Civil Lines and Highway Patrol Jaguar Team was immediately sent to Bawana to facilitate the oxygen cylinder borne vehicle by creating green corridor. 

The Police team escorted the vehicle carrying total 33 oxygen cylinders to Tirath Ram Shah Hospital providing a safe and fast passage by making a green corridor and delivered the same to the hospital in the nick of time before 9:00 AM.

EAST  DISTRICT

An information was received regarding acute shortage of  Oxygen in Life Line  Hospital, Laxmi Nagar where approximately 70 patients were on active oxygen/ventilator support and their lives were on stake. Besides, there was apprehension of adverse law and order situation. However, due to sincere and prompt efforts of Sh. Virender Kumar, ACP Preet Vihar and Inspector Dhananjay Pratap Singh, SHO Laxmi Nagar,  the oxygen was arranged from Bawana and Dilshad Garden. The prompt action by above named police officials averted the scarcity of oxygen and saved the lives  of many patients undergoing treatment in Life Line  Hospital.

Another call was received regarding non availability of oxygen at Metro Hospital and Malik Radix hospital, Preet Vihar. Immediately, SEM, Sh. Vinod Kumar Singh, Nodal officer in East District, contacted and with the sustained and coordinated efforts, the empty cylinders were immediately sent to the supply centre at Bawana  and all  necessary  arrangements for supply of oxygen were made. Besides, liquid oxygen was being supplied to Metro Hospital by one Seth Air Products, SCF S15 DLF Industrial Area, Phase-I Market, Faridabad, Mob. No. 9811136654, 0129-4043591, 0129-4116923. However, the supplier showed his inability to supply the liquid oxygen and kept his phone switched off. Immediately, SI Abodh from P{S Preet Vihar, rushed to Faridabad and after making personal contacts and request to him, a tank of liquid oxygen could be arranged for Metro hospital in the night. 

Virender Singh, Addl. PP, who was residing in Vaishali Sector-1, contacted SHO/Kalyanpuri and informed that his oxygen level was very low and he was feeling difficulty in breathing. He tried his best to get admission in many hospitals but due to non availability of bed nothing could be done. However, SHO Kalyanpuri, immediately arranged his temporary admission in LBS hospital and given Oxygen support. Next day he managed to get a bed in a private hospital in Gulabi Bagh.

ROHINI DISTRICT

Based on the distress call regarding the shortage of oxygen in Bhagwati hospital, a team of Prashant Vihar police in coordination with District administration arranged 38 oxygen cylinders during the day.
Further, again the hospital faced an acute shortage yesterday night and 28 liquid oxygen cylinders were arranged for the same hospital during the night hours in coordination with SHO Badarpur.  
The police provided green corridors for movement and helped save the lives of patients admitted in the hospital.
Green Corridor provided for Oxygen Tanker
Teams from North Rohini and Budh Vihar provided a green corridor in coordination with PS Bharat Nagar for an oxygen tanker containing 12 tons of oxygen. Total 2 ton of oxygen was supplied to BSA HOSPITAL and 2 ton of oxygen was supplied to Rajiv Gandhi Cancer Hospital.
Now it is being escorted to Sir Gangaram Hospital, Rajender Nagar

Green Corridor provided for Oxygen Tanker for Santom Hospital
In addition to 18 Liquid oxygen Cylinders were already arranged for Santom Hospital during day time. Distress calls from Santom Hospital in the night regarding issues in the transportation of tanker of liquid oxygen near Badarpur received. A team of Prashant Vihar police station established a green corridor for this tanker carrying the liquid oxygen from Badarpur and escorts them to Rohini.

On receipt of information from District Administration that 02 Oxygen Carrying Vehicles were to reach Rajiv Gandhi Hosp Shahdara from Kanjhawala immediately. 

Within no time, ERV Kanjhawala – DL 1CAA - 3986 established a green corridor of Oxygen Carriers DL 1LAB – 7811, DL 1LAA - 8505 from Kanjhawala to Shahdara,  through route Kanjhawala Chowk – Karala Chowk – L/T 100 Foota Road – R/T Helipad Road – Rithala Naala – K N Katju Marg -  L/T Outer Ring Road – Signature Bridge  Wazirabad Road – Bhajanpura – Tahirpur – Rajiv Gandhi Hospital.
The message was also passed on to PCR Command Room in this context.  PCR and Traffic Staff also facilitated in making clear passes. It reached the destination within one hour.

Another distress call was received from the MS Santom Hospital regarding the extreme shortage of liquid oxygen which will last only for two hours, team Prashant Vihar police station arranged 15 liquid oxygen Cylinders were from Mundka in coordination with the Team of Mundka police station.

A green corridor was also provided to the vehicle carrying the liquid oxygen by the team of SHO Prashant Vihar and with in 1 hour Liquid oxygen cylinders were provided to the hospital.

SOUTH DISTRICT

During special inspection of hospitals in the area, ONCOPLUS Hospital was visited at  Bhisam Pitamah Marg where 44 Covid patients were admitted and under treatment. The hospital authorities stated that only three oxygen cylinders are left at hospital and their suppliers have expressed inability to supply the cylinder due to shortage.

On this a police team was entrusted to explore the availability of oxygen from venders and it was found that one vendor Paramount Cryo Gases in *Mundka * area is re-filling the cylinders, so the team went with vacant cylinders there. The team waited around 4 hours for their turn and got the cylinders filled with oxygen gas. We also coordinated with the local police of PS Mundka, who helped a lot and smoothened the process.

All the filled 40 cylinders have been handed over to the ONCOPLUS Hospital authorities. Patient and their relatives got a sigh of relief. They felt happy and grateful.

WEST DISTRICT

At about 02:00 AM,  AC Shukla, Medical Superintendent, Mata Chanan Devi Hospital called SHO Janak Puri and told that the hospital is running dangerously low stock of oxygen and their oxygen stock will last for two hours only. Many patients are on active oxygen/ventilator support and their life is on the stake. He told that a tanker is scheduled for his hospital but a clear passage is required to avoid any probable traffic jam or any other unseen hindrance. 

Sensing the threat to the life of approximately 200 Patients SHO Janakpuri along with ERV, QRT and other staff rushed to help the Hospital authorities. They had informed that oxygen supply has to come from Bhiwadi Rajasthan. While police staff was on the way Manager of Inox gas supplier sensing the emergency situation informed that two tankers are at present delivering oxygen to Apollo Hospital and Batra Hospital and he has directed both the drivers to deliver half of their supply to Mata Channan Devi Hospital. Accordingly, drivers of both the tankers were contacted and from both hospitals piloted the tankers and managed to reach in Channan Devi Hospital just in time.

Another emergency call for shortage of Oxygen supply from Khanna  Nursing Home was received. The staff of Janakpuri police station made all out efforts and managed to get 10 gas cylinders from Vinayak Oxygen Further to meet any emergency 25 oxygen cylinders also have been arranged from Star Gas Ltd, Manesar for Mata Channan Devi Hospital. The owner of Star Gas is a resident of Janakpuri and very helpful, two more vehicles having oxygen cylinders for Khanna and Arya Nursing home Janakpuri are on the way.

CENTRAL DISTRICT

At 3.12 AM, a PCR call was received that there was a shortage of oxygen at Jeewan Mala Hospital, Rohtak Road and help was needed. Immediately a team led by SHO DBG Road consisting SI Jai Bhagwan, ASI Adesh, Ct Manish reached Jeewan Mala Hospital.  Dr Naresh of Jeewan Mala Hospital met and told that their vehicle was stuck in Mundka and they had  oxygen supply of only 30 minutes. The team swiftly led into action and 2 big oxygen cylinders were arranged immediately and a continuous supply of oxygen was ensured. Later, the vehicle of Jeewan Mala Hospital came with 12 more cylinders. Further 7 more oxygen cylinders were procured from Naraina and handed over to Jeewan Mala Hospital.

In the morning at 7.35 AM, the doctors again informed that oxygen backup was for only 30 mins.  Again 2 more cylinders were provided to them.  Later their vehicle arrived with 33 cylinders. It was the quick and timely action of local police that no untoward incident took place.

SOUTH WEST DISTRICT 

At about 8.30 a distress call was received on my mobile stating that a lady namely Pallavi,  living with her husband Rakesh Sahare at 94/9 second floor Kishangarh is in problem as her husband has died with COVID and she is alone in the house. There is no other person with her. She needs help for an ambulance and in performing the last rites of her husband as despite her best efforts no ambulance is coming for her help. Accordingly, constable Sandeep of Kishangarh police station was deputed for immediate help who arrived on the spot and PPE kits were provided to the caller. An ambulance was arranged from Safdarjung Hospital and the dead body was sent for final rituals along with Pallavi and some of her known persons.

EAST DISTRICT

One person namely Swantar Kumar Bitta from.Mandawali contacted SHO Mandawali to help him as he is covid+ and whole of his family was residing in US and no one was there to take care of him. He asked him to provide food and medicines. SHO/PS Mandawali immediately, provided him food from the mess and also delivered medicines to his place of stay.

Another nsenior citizen namely Smt. K. Nagarmani from Pandav Nagar made a call to constable Pawan, posted in Mandawali for providing medicines as she was sick and no one was there to help her. Ct. Pawan No. 949/E immediately rushed and provided the required medicines and other essential items to her.

ROHINI DISTRICT

On receipt of a message that the head of the family Vinod (45) who was residing at G-8/214, third floor, sec.-16,Rohni, Mangal Bazar, has died due to COVID, wife of the deceased is also admitted in the hospital and old age mother of the deceased is at home with three children (all below the age of five years) of her deceased son, and are in urgent need of help.

After receiving the message, the same was assigned to the beat staff HC Vinod, who promptly responded and reached to the family. Further, he made arrangements for all the basic requirements which they needed in coordination with one Good Samaritan Jogender.  Further contact numbers have been shared with the family for any further help.
