Govinda was reportedly cleaning his licenced revolver; however, the revolver went off after it slipped from his hand and fell.

Actor Govinda accidentally shot himself in the leg with his gun in Mumbai.
He was about to leave for Kolkata for an event.
The actor was immediately rushed to the hospital, where he is currently recovering.
As per the details shared by Govinda's manager Shashi Sinha with media the incident happened at 4.45 am when Govinda was preparing to go out, and he was cleaning his licenced revolver. However, the revolver went off after it slipped from his hand and fell.
The actor was admitted to the intensive care unit (ICU) of Mumbai's CritiCare Hospital. Govinda's wife Sunita Ahuja was not in Mumbai when the incident happened.
Govinda was operated upon and currently out of danger.
Hearing about the incident, Mumbai Crime Branch rushed to the spot and collected details from the spot. Although there is no complaint, the police are inquiring into the matter.
