Army soldier killed in an encounter between militants and security forces in Udhampur

New Delhi, April 24
An Indian Army soldier was killed as an encounter between security forces and a group of militants broke out in J&K’s Udhampur district two days after a militant attack on tourists in south Kashmir’s Pahalgam.
The search operations for infiltrators come after in Pahalgam that killed 26 persons.
The Udhampur encounter began after security forces established contact with militants during a search operation.
The official stated that the searches were launched following information about the presence of militants in the area. As the search parties reached the Berolay area, militants opened fire, leading to an encounter.
A day earlier, two militants were killed in another encounter that took place in the Uri sector of north Kashmir. The operation had begun on April 22 morning after the Army spotted a group of militants trying to infiltrate into the Valley through a stream in Uri sector in north Kashmir’s Baramulla.As the troops challenged the infiltrators, they opened fire which was retaliated by the soldiers leading to a gunfight in which two militants were killed.
