Axis Bank Took Initiative To Help Families Of Cops

Axis Bank and Delhi Police took an appreciable initiative to financially assist the families of the cops, who laid their life on duty. A woman constable, who met with a serious accident on duty was also given a cheque. Besides, Axis Bank also donated Rs. 10 lakh for the wards of policemen, who are aiming for their Olympic medals. Axis Bank has salary accounts of around 80 thousand of police personnel of the Delhi Police. 

Constable Manju was posted at South Campus police post several years back. It was situated in a makeshift. Manju was on duty and all of a sudden a tree fell down on her. The lower part of her body was so injured that she remains in the wheelchair even now. Manju has given a cheque of Rs. 2 lakhs by Commissioner of Delhi Police, Amulya Patnaik, on behalf of Axis Bank. She is posted now in the Tughlaq Road police station and does only office work. She has been allotted a residence in this premise so that she does not need to move much. Manju expressed her gratitude for her department and Axis Bank.

DCP Vikramjeet Singh said that dependents of 26 deceased police personnel received financial support of around Rs. 1.5 crores. In a programme held in NDMC centre, Axis Bank and Delhi Police jointly distributed cheques to them. At this event, CP Delhi Sh. AmulyaPatnaik, Spl. Commissioners of Police Sh. S. Vasudeva Rao, Sh. P. Kamraj, Sh. S. Nithyanandam and other senior officials along with police personnel were present. Sh. Sanjay Silas, Sh. N. Chakravarti, Sh. K.K. Shrivastava from Axis bank was also present. Dependants of police personnel who received financial assistance from 5 lakh to 25 lakh rupees expressed their gratitude. These police personnel, whose families got this assistance, died in the last six months.

Axis bank also offered a cheque of  Rs. 10 lakh toward financial assistance to Police Families Welfare Society, to provide scholarships to police wards under ”Mission Olympics 2020” programme. At this moment, ‘A Booklet on Welfare Schemes’ was also released. This book comprises a description of various welfare schemes that are being carried out by Delhi Police for its employees and will help police personnel to get information about these schemes.
