Delhi Police officers decorated with medals for gallantry for their courageous operations

The Delhi Police received medals for gallantry this Republic Day for carrying out two major operations in 2023.
In one case recipients Manmeet Singh and ASI Rajeev Kumar succeeded in cracking down at gangster by taking a bullet in another a team of Special Cell consisting of ACP Rahul Vikram, Inspector Vijay Dahiya and others for averting a major terro attack and arrested accused in a high voltage chase and run.

In the month of October, 2023 some miscreants fired at the main gate of a house in village Ladpur, Delhi. Demand for extortion money was made and threats were extended by Deepak alias Titar and Dinesh Karala members of Gogi Gang. A case vide FIR No. 426/2023, U/s 336/387 IPC & 25/27 Arms Act was registered at PS Kanjhawala, Delhi, in this regard. A team of Inter State Cell, Crime Branch was tasked to work upon the suspect. Secret inputs were received that the suspect involved in the extortion case of PS Kanjhawala, Delhi would come near Sector-21 Metro Station, Dwarka, Delhi to meet their associates.
Acting upon the information, a team led by Insp Manmeet Malik comprising of ASIs Jai Kumar, Rajeev, Vikas Solanki, HCs Bijender, Harender and Ct. Ashish Malik under the close supervision of ACP Ramesh Chander Lamba was constituted to nab the desperate gangster. The team laid a trap at the place of information and on 27.10.2023, at around 02:00 am, the wanted accused was spotted near railway underpass Sector-21, near Bharthal Road, Dwarka, Delhi on a motorcycle. The team signaled him to stop, but he tried to escape through service road. When the police party directed him to surrender he opened and fired 3 rounds on the raiding party and one of the bullets hit on the bullet proof jacket of Insp. Manmeet Malik, who was leading the operation. The police party in self-defense fired 04 rounds in which the above accused got shot on his left leg below the knee and was immediately overpowered by the raiding party.
The accused was identified as Kulwant Dalal, a sharp shooter of ‘Gogi Gang’. In this incident Insp. Manmeet Malik and ASI Rajeev Kumar, displayed conspicuous gallantry, courage and showed acute presence of mind, sense of valour and firm determination despite being shot at by the accused in desperation.

In the month of October, 2022, Deepak Kumar alias Tinu, a notorious gangster of Lawrence Bishnoi gang, escaped from the custody of Central Investigation Agency (CIA) of Mansa, Punjab Police while he was on police remand in connection with the murder of famous Punjabi Singer Sidhu Moosewala.
The Counter Intelligence team of the Special Cell in Delhi, led by ACP Rahul Vikram and Inspector Vikram, immediately launched a full-scaled operation to track down Tinu before he could flee the country. Following the leads, on October 19th, 2022, during the course of investigation, the team located a suspect in Village Baghera. After locating the house where Tinu was believed to be hiding, the team conducted a raid. However, Tinu attempted to attack the police team with a hand grenade as they barged into the room. He had taken one of five available grenades in his hand and was about to pull out the safety pin. The situation in which ACP Rahul Vikram and Inspector Vikram found themselves during the raid was a highly volatile and dangerous. However, ACP Rahul Vikram and Inspector Vikram were able to respond to this threat with great bravery and quick thinking. They acted swiftly to apprehend the accused, before he could detonate the grenade. This required them to put their own lives on the risk, as they physically overpowered the accused and neutralized the threat. The team faced a further challenge when some locals attempted to obstruct their efforts to apprehend the suspect; they broke the window glasses of the vehicle in which the accused was being transported. They swiftly assessed the situation and took necessary measures to handle the crowd and ensure the safety of the accused and their team members and transported him to the designated location.
Credible inputs revealed that in order to carry out terror activities in India, Pak-ISI has created a facade of India focused ISIS by using PAK based and protected terrorists. While following leads, one such module was identified with footprints in UP, Uttarakhand, Jharkhand & Maharashtra. While developing the information, two ISIS operatives namely Imran Khan and Yunus Saaki were arrested in Pune, Maharashtra by Pune Police. However, one of the arrested persons namely Shahnawaz Alam manage to escape from the police custody. On 18/09/23, on further specific information that the accused Shahnawaz Alam r/o Hazaribagh, Jharkhand moving along with one Rizwan Ali of Delhi have been planning to carry out terrorist activities in Delhi and adjoining areas along with their other associates. Shahnawaz Alam and Rizwan could be arrested if timely raid on the contacts persons/sympathizers is conducted.
Accordingly, on 01/10/23, on the basis of credible inputs, coordinated multiple raids were carried out in three states (Delhi, UP and Uttarakhand) with the assistance of Central Intelligence Agency and concerned state police. During investigation, Md. Arshad Warsi and Mohammad Rizwan Ashraf were arrested in the present case. Md. Arshad Warsi disclosed that Shahnawaz Alam is known to him and he is an accomplice in the conspiracy to carry out terrorist activities in Delhi and adjoining areas along with Shahnawaz and others. It was also revealed that Shahnawaz Alam has taken a room in Delhi in furtherance of their criminal conspiracy. A raiding team comprising of Insp. Vinay Pal, SI M. A. Khan,HC Sikander Khan and others was formed. On 01/10/23, at about 09.30PM, raiding team along with accused Md. Arshad Warsi, departed to Jaitpur,Delhi. Insp. Vinay Pal was wearing bullet proof jacket. On the pointing out of accused Md. Arshad Warsi, Insp. Vinay Pal knocked the door of the flat situated on the left-hand side of the roof. Shahnawaj Alam opened the gate and on seeing the police team, he immediately inside other room of the flat. Insp. Vinay Pal, SI M. A. Khan and HC Sikander chased him inside the flat; immediately, he took his pistol from the beneath of his mattress lying on the floor of room and targeted the police team. Insp.Vinay Pal, SI M. A. Khan and HC Sikander showed tremendous presence of mind, exceptional courage and without caring for their lives, pounce on the Shahnawaj Alam. Shahnawaj Alam opened fire on them. Without caring for his life, Insp. Vinay Pal overpowered accused Shahnawaz Alam while SI M. A.Khan and HC Sikander disarmed Shahnawaz Alam carefully after a brief scuffle with him. They put their life at risk and bravely confronted this desperate terrorist without caring for their personal lives.
