A college student in Bengaluru was assaulted by his seniors for allegedly refusing to shave his moustache and beard.
The police stated that the incident occurred at Krupanidhi Group of Institutions, and a case has been filed against the accused.
The accused was identified as Xavier Issac, Vishnu, and Sharath, who allegedly asked the victim, Goutham, to shave his beard when he joined the college in April. After Goutham refused, the seniors reportedly formed a group to intimidate him.
the assault took place on Friday (August 30) when Goutham was taken to a church in Hadosiddapura. His refusal to comply with their demands led to the attack, resulting in a fractured shoulder.
The police have booked the accused under Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) Sections 118(1) and 118(2) (voluntarily causing hurt or grievous hurt by dangerous weapons), 126(2) (wrongful restraint), 189(2) (unlawful assembly), 190 (every member of illegal assembly accountable for an offence committed to further common object), 191(2) (rioting) and 351 (criminal intimidation).
