A woman in Bengaluru was molested by an unknown man while she was out for a morning walk.
The incident happened on August 2 at nearly 5 am when she was waiting for her friend to arrive and join her for the walk.
The police said the victim hails from Rajasthan and used to go out for a walk every morning.
The police have booked the man was under Sections 76, 78, and 79 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and a manhunt was launched to trace him.
A video of the incident shows the woman standing outside a house when a man approached her from behind. He could then be seen chasing her and groping her on the street. The man was visible in white shirt and pant.
DCP South Lokesh Jagalasar told media in a statement, “The incident is being taken very seriously, and the safety and security of women remains our top-most priority. A case has been registered, and the accused will be traced very soon and subjected to legal action. In addition to this, in areas where there is a need for increased police patrolling, suitable action is being taken already”.
