New Delhi, June 25
The Bihar Police that had been probing the NEET exam paper leak case had busted the infamous Sanjeev Mukhiya gang behind the exam paper leak.
The Economic Offences Unit of Bihar Police had arrested six main members of the gang that were in touch with cyber criminals to work in an organised manner to leak the exam paper.
Sanjeev Mukhiya, whose son, Shiv, is already jailed for involvement in the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) teacher recruitment exam paper leak, had allegedly accommodated nearly 25 candidates at a boys' hostel, associated with the Learn Play School in Patna on May 4, a day before the NEET exam.
The candidates were provided with the leaked question paper and answer sheets at the same hostel.
Five people arrested from Jharkhand in the NEET case also included three cyber criminals, and the police seized some post-dated cheques and sim cards from their possession.
The police were also on the lookout for one Rocky, Sanjeev Mukhiya's nephew, who was alleged to have links with the paper leak. Rocky runs a hotel in Ranchi and is believed to have provided solvers to crack the leaked NEET exam paper.
The EOU had arrested 18 persons in the case till the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) officially took over the case. The EOU has now provided all the evidences to CBI. The CBI is probing the larger conspiracy in the case.
