Boxer Saweety Boora and husband Deepak Hooda file complaint against each other in marital dispute

Gold medal-winning boxer Saweety Boora and her husband Deepak Hooda, former captain of the Indian Kabaddi team have filed complaints against each other in police.
The Hisar police have booked Deepak under provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, including voluntarily causing hurt, criminal breach of trust and criminal intimidation, based on the complaint lodged by his wife.
Deepak too lodged a complaint in Rohtak, accusing his wife’s family of torturing him mentally, of criminal intimidation and cheating.
In his complaint to the Rohtak SP, Deepak said that Saweety left his home after she was honoured with the Arjuna Award on December 17, 2024. Deepak claimed that Saweety and her sister took away gold and cash worth lakhs from his Rohtak flat on February 3 when he was in Delhi.
In her complaint, Saweety said that her family spent nearly Rs 1 crore in dowry. She claimed that her father wanted to give a Creta car to Deepak, but just four days before the wedding, Deepak and his sister demanded a Fortuner SUV and her father was forced to take a loan of Rs 11.59 lakh. She accused her in-laws of torturing, insulting and assaulting her “for more dowry.
