Boy dies by suicide following harassment from in-laws over an inter-faith marriage, write a suicide note addressing UP CM Yogi Adityanath

A youth hanged himself leaving a suicide note addressed to UP CM Yogi Adityanath that he was being harassed by his in-laws after his inter-faith marriage to a girl.
The incident took place in Noida where the victim was identified as Mohit Thakur (24) a resident of Sector 54.
The police control room had received information that a man’s body was found hanging in Sector 54. The body was sent for post mortem where it was confirmed the boy died by hanging himself.
The police recovered a suicide note from him addressing CM Adityanath narrating the ordeal of the alleged harassment.
In the suicide note, the victim said his wife’s conversion had upset her family. It alleges that his wife’s parents and relatives are responsible for his suicide. The note was uploaded on his Instagram account before committing suicide.
According to the police, Mohit met the woman in Noida some years ago and they got married earlier this year. His father told police that the family wanted him to marry someone else and they had even fixed a date but Mohit decided not to go ahead with it.
The woman also converted after marrying Mohit. Although Mohit’s family accepted her as their daughter-in-law, the woman’s parents hadn’t accepted Mohit. The woman’s parents’ had cut off all ties from her.
The couple shifted to Jaipur, where Mohit did odd jobs to make ends meet.
The officials added that the woman wanted to attend a wedding in the family in October and got in touch with her relatives. In the pretext of attending the wedding and resolving differences, the relatives allegedly called her but did not let her return to Mohit.
During Diwali, the victim’s family even requested the girl’s family to let her go however after repeated requests, they did not.
Mohit’s family told police that recently on December 25, the woman’s father and relative came to their house and threatened them. The family also alleged that a Sector 54 chowki in-charge had threatened Mohit at the behest of the woman’s family.
The police sated that they are investigating the case and will arrest the accused responsible behind abetting his suicide.
