BSF and Punjab Police recover drone with arms in Amritsar district

The Chinese make drone was found with a pistol barrel attached to it

New Delhi, August 14

The Border Security Force (BSF) and Punjab Police seized a drone from the Indo Pakistan border in Amritsar district. 

The officials said that based on information by BSF intelligence wing about presence of a fallen drone in the border area of Amritsar district, a joint search operation by BSF troops in collaboration with Punjab Police was conducted in the suspected area.

During the search operation, at about 01:20 pm, troops successfully recovered one drone along with one packet containing upper slide and barrel of a pistol from a farming field adjacent to village Rajatal in Amritsar district. The consignment was wrapped with yellow coloured adhesive tape and a metal ring was also found attached with the packet.

The recovered drone has been identified as a China-made DJI Mavic 3 classic.

The officials added that  reliable information and coordinated efforts of BSF and Punjab police successfully recovered yet another illicit drone alongwith weapon parts from across the border.
