BSF Tripura sector foils human trafficking attempt

In other operations along the Indo Bangladesh border cannabis, codine based syrups and other contrabands also seized

New Delhi, February 13 

Adopting non lethal strategy BSF troops under Tripura Frontier successfully foiled several attempts of infiltration and smuggling.                     

In significant joint operations under South Tripura district, thr BSF troops seized sun glasses , Burmese cigarette  worth ₹ 1.8 crores. 

In other operations along the Indo Bangladesh border cannabis, codine based syrups and other contrabands also seized.

In a another case, BSF troops of BOP Konaban (Sepahijala district), in a joint operation with star police, apprehended a notorious human trafficker from Radhanagar village. Acting on specific intelligence, the forces raided his residence and recovered one country-made  pistol, one Magazine and three live rounds. 

The individual is suspected to be involved in multiple cases of human trafficking and trans-border smuggling.

Additionally, in separate operations, BSF troops of Tripura Frontier seized 415 kg of Ganja and other contraband items worth ₹34.74 lakh, dealing a major blow to illegal activities along the border, officials further stated.
