BSF's Seema Prahari IOCL Marathon organized in JCP Attari

New Delhi, March 31
The Border Security Force (BSF) in Punjab organized Seema Prahari IOCL Marathon - 2022 with theme "Marathon Hand in Hand with Border Population" at JCP Attari in Amritsar sector
The Army, CAPF, police personnel alongwith civilians above 18 years (men & women) in three categories, i.e. Full Marathon (42 Kms) , Half Marathon (21 Kms) and 05 Kms took part during the marathon.
The marathon was flagged off from Golden Gate in Amritsar Bollywood actor and Padma Shri Nana Patekar. The half marathon from India Gate was flagged off by DG BSF Pankaj Kumar Singh and 05 km run by P V Ramasastry, ADG (WC) BSF with all runs culminating at JCP Attari.
DG BSG Pankaj Kumar Singh, Nana Patekar and PV Ramasastry welcomed the participants at the finishing point.
The BSF said that out of 515 registrations for the marathon, 498 participated in the event in different categories, i.e for full – marathon 82 Nos, for half – marathon 193 Nos and for 5 Kms 183 Nos.
DG BSF specially applauded the active participation by Puran Kaur (65) and Amar Singh (70) in the marathon.
A cultural performance was also presented at JCP Attari.
A marathon for the brave Divyangs of BSF will be conducted during the month of Sept’ 2022, which will start from New Delhi and terminate at JCP Attari.
DG BSF emphasized the importance of physical fitness in the daily routine for a healthy mind. DG BSF further praised the BSF personnel for their active participation in this marathon and added that a “Seema Bhawani expedition ride” covering almost 5280 Kms is also going to terminate at Chennai on March 28.
He also thanked Indian Oil Cooperation Ltd, SBI, SMILE foundation, ICE College of Hotel Management, Oxygen club, Fast and Up and others who had been a great support in making this Marathon a huge success.

The BSF Seema Prahari IOCL Marathon 2022' was conducted to celebrate 75 years of independence (Azadi Ke Amrit Mahotsav) and was aimed to promote the spirit of adventure and enterprise among the population particularly youths from bordering areas. This marathon has inspired the youth of border area and promoted spirit of National Integration and patriotism amongst public. It has created awareness among public towards the onerous task of Border Management performed by BSF in a challenging environment.
