CBI arrests section officer of Sheep & Husbandry and Fisheries Section of Jammu in bribery case

New Delhi, March 8
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested accused Section Officer of Sheep & Husbandry and Fisheries Section, Agriculture Production Department Jammu for demanding and accepting bribe of from the complainant through UPI transaction.
The CBI stated that a case was registered against said accused on allegations that accused demanded a bribe of Rs.5 Lakh from the complainant for issuing / processing the case of his father for appointment as Stock Assistant in the Department, pursuant to Advertisement No. 3 of 2007 of J&K Service Selection Board and CAT (Jammu) order dated October 2024.
The bribe amount was allegedly negotiated and accused asked to pay Rs.50,000/- as bribe through online UPI and once favorable decision is taken in this regard, the accused would further ask for the remaining amount.
CBI laid a trap and caught the accused after demanding and accepting bribe of Rs.50,000 from the complainant through online UPI transaction at the said mobile number provided by the accused. CBI also conducted searches at the residential premises of accused at Jammu.
