CBI arrests SP Customs in bribery case at Mundra Port

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) arrested then Inspector and dock Examiner, Mundra Port (now Superintendent of Customs, Jamnagar) and a private person in bribery of Rs.two lakhs.
A case was registered against then Inspector & Dock Examiner, Mundra Port(Gujarat) on the allegations of demanding undue advantage of Rs. seven lakh from complainant towards clearance of containers during his tenure of posting at Mundra Port.
The accused allegedly threatened the complainant that if the demand of undue advantage was not fulfilled, he would not allow them to work smoothly as Custom House Agent.
The CBI laid a trap and caught a private person (conduit of said public servant) while accepting undue advantage of Rs.two lakh from the complainant as per directions of then Inspector & Dock Examiner, Mundra Port(now Superintendent of Customs, Jamnagar).
The agency conducted searches at the premises of the accused including at Mundra and Jamnagar(Gujarat) which led to recovery of cash of Rs.9.50 Lakh(approx) and incriminating documents from the premises of public servant, officials said.
