CBI arrests two accused including an official of NDMC in bribery case

New Delhi, March 12
Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested two accused including an official of New Delhi Municipal Corporation (NDMC) and a private person for demanding and accepting part bribe amount of Rs.15,000 from the complainant.
A case was registered by CBI on allegations that accused demanded a bribe amount of Rs. 6 lakh (1.5 lak per candidate) from the complainants for getting the three complainants and one more person appointed, to the post of Assistant Sanitary Inspector/Sanitary Inspector in NDMC.
It was also alleged that accused had earlier taken Rs 50,000 as part bribe amount. Further, accused allegedly agreed to accept Rs 50,000 from the complainant as part payment of undue advantage as second installment and directed the complainant that remaining bribe amount of Rs 5 lakh be paid after joining the job in NDMC.
CBI laid a trap and caught both accused while demanding and accepting bribe of Rs.15,000 as part payment of the total demanded bribe amount of Rs 6 lakh from the complainant.
The agency aso conducted searches at the premises of the accused.
