CBI arrests two wanted accused in 2006 Kollam mother- twin kids murders

The case relates to the brutal murder of one 24 year old lady and her new born girl twins aged 17 days in February 2006 at Anchal

New Delhi, January 8

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested two proclaimed offenders  namely Divil Kumar and Rajesh, who are accused and were absconding in a case of brutal murder of a lady and her new born girl twins in Kerala.

CBI had re-registered the case in 2010 and undertook investigation in compliance of order of the High Court of Kerala transferring  investigation of the case to CBI. 

The case relates to the brutal murder of one 24 year old lady and her new born girl twins aged 17 days in February 2006 at Anchal , Kollam District, which was initially registered  at Kollam in Kerala.

CBI investigation revealed that the above murders were committed by Divil Kumar from Kollam District and his friend Rajesh from Kaidhapuram, Kannur Kerala. Both the accused were absconding from the stage of investigation since 2006.

After a thorough investigation, a chargesheet was filed by CBI before the Chief Judicial Magistrate, Eranakulam against both the absconding accused who were declared as Proclaimed Offenders by the court. 

The officials added that intensives efforts were continued to trace the above two absconding accused.  Upon receipt of intelligence inputs and after thorough verification, a team of CBI officers/officials traced both the absconding accused persons Divil Kumar and Rajesh in Puducherry and nabbed them.

It was also revealed that ever since committing the murder accused Divil Kumar had impersonated and changed his name as Vishnu and accused Rajesh impersonated as  Praveen Kumar, concealing their real identity, got married in Puducherry,  purchased, officials further added.
