CBI books Divisional Operations Manager of South Central Railways in a bribery case

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has registered a case against accused Divisional Operations Manager (DOM) of South Central Railway, Secunderabad, Telangana that accused demanded bribe money for selecting candidates for the posts of Traffic Inspectors and Chief Controllers in the Operating Department at South Central Railway Headquarters.
CBI has received a complaint from Dy. CVO/T and RPF/SC Vigilance Branch, SC Railways, Secunderabad.
It was further alleged that accused received the bribe totalling Rs. 1.25 lakhs into his son’s bank account by way of UPI transfers from 4 candidates and Rs. 40000 in cash during July-August 2023 from one candidate.
It was also alleged that he was in receipt of a total amount of Rs. 31.62 lakhs through suspicious transactions into his account and his son’s account, which are beyond his sources.
Searches were conducted by CBI at the premises of accused at two places in Solapur and one place each in Hyderabad and Guntakal which led to recovery of some incriminating documents.
